Ensuring you are meeting current Data Protection requirements

Monday 17th July 2017

At the recent headteacher meetings, I promised primary headteachers that I would  produce a guide for schools to help ensure that you are meeting the CURRENT data protection regulation requirements. The guide is in the form of a checklist, and I have also created a specific page on the EPHA website which includes model policies, examples of privacy notices and so on. https://essexprimaryheads.co.uk/info-and-documents/data-protection/

I have written a series of “7-minute staff meetings” on data protection to help you meet the requirement to train staff. There are three available, on:

  • Data Protection principles”,
  •  “information sharing”, and
  •  “records management and data security”.

These can all be found on the Seven-minute staff meeting page - https://essexprimaryheads.co.uk/info-and-documents/seven-minute-staff-meetings/

A guide to meeting the GDPR will be produced next term, when we have had definitive guidance from the DfE about what schools must do to meet the regulations.
