Upated guidance from HR about the changes to the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 2014

Monday 15th September 2014

HR has updated the guidance about the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 2014 (STPCD). It is worth noting that the Guidance is lengthy, but there was no way of reducing it......TPCD 2014 is badly worded in places and therefore unclear and ambiguous. HR has asked for clarification on several aspects from the DfE and LGA but both departments were not entirely sure of all the answers! Schools were asked to check with HR if they have any questions, to ensure that the approach is consistent.

There are two other HR attachments that schools and governors might find helpful:

  • The New Headteachers' Pay Determination Form - is a tool that HR has produced which Governors might find useful, not least as an audit of their decision - this is an optional tool
  • The Reference Points - these are for information only - they do not exist in STPCD and many schools use different scales now

The updated Pay Policy for 2014 is in progress and will go to the Unions shortly and be in schools by the end of September.
