EPHA's tenth annual conference for headteachers - Friday 14th March at Stock Brook Country Club

Saturday 8th February 2014

The programme and booking form for this year's EPHA Headteachers' Conference has been sent out to all schools in the internal post system. Our tenth annual conference is being held on Friday 14 March 2014 at Stock Brook Country Club, Nr Billericay.

We are delighted that Sir Tim Brighouse and Mike Brearley are both speaking at the conference, along with others at the forefront of national and local leadership and education today.

Tim's key note speech will explore how to manage the torrent of change, in particular the new primary curriculum and assessment arrangements, whilst still managing creative and successful school leadership.
Tim Brighouse began his career by completing a degree in modern history at Oxford University, where he trained to be a teacher in 1961. He continued to teach at various levels for several years.
He completed his full time career in education as Commissioner for London Schools in 2007. Sir Tim is a charismatic, inspirational speaker and typical comments about him are "He exceeded expectations," & "He brought incredible energy."

Mike Brearley is an Associate for Independent Thinking. His leadership approaches encourage the school to see Ofsted through the eyes of a child, to respond to the demands of inspection through engagement, responsibility, common purpose and the creativity of a new school culture, rather than the often threatening and stressful experience that many have had.
Based on his many years of research and experience working with young people, school leaders, staff teams, parents and governors, Mike has shown his ability to get beneath the surface of understanding how young people engage with their learning, how teachers become great leaders and how whole school communities develop their capacity to commit to a common purpose and creative enquiry.

After a delicious lunch, headteachers will be able to choose from one of three workshops - details in the programme. As you can see, an interesting and informative day is planned, and we hope very much that you will be able to attend. Once again the conference is priced very competitively at a modest £80 per delegate.

Please send your booking form and payment for the conference to Pam Langmead - details of where to send this to are on the booking form.
