Leading more than one Essex school - programme for multi-school leadership Thursday 17 January 2013

Wednesday 21st November 2012

Thank you to those who were able to attend the meeting with Roy Blatchford of the National Educational Trust on 28th September, organised by ECC Education and Learning Services.

In response to the discussion with headteachers at that meeting ECC will be launching a programme for multi-school leadership on Thursday 17th January, 2013, at an Essex venue to be confirmed.

The programme will consist of five sessions spread through 2013 (further dates to be agreed with participants). Sessions will focus on:

  • securing good/outstanding leadership in good/outstanding schools, linked to new Ofsted inspection framework
  • the Blink model of school review
  • the implications for their own schools (staff and governors) where the head is leading more than one institution
  • systems and procedures for multi-school leadership
  • visits to schools outside Essex
  • shaping primary leadership in Essex.

There will be no charge for the course, but places are very limited. If you wish to apply please could you complete the application form and return it to sally.moorcock@essex.gov.uk by the end of November.

Please do not hesitate to contact Graham Lancaster should you require further information.
