The autumn term Area Primary Headteacher meetings will be held in November- see dates and venues below. The meetings will start at 9.00 am and will include, as always, refreshments and lunch. You are likely to want to attend your local meeting, but if the date doesn’t work for you please do attend any of the other meetings. There is no need to book the morning meeting, just turn up (leaving some time for parking) and enjoy the day.
The dates of the meetings are:
N-EAST Wednesday 13 November Colchester Stadium
SOUTH Thursday 14 November Holiday Inn, Basildon
WEST Wednesday 20 November Weston Homes Takeley
MID Thursday 21 November Chelmsford City Football Club
The agenda will include updates from the Local Authority and feedback from Ofsted inspections held this term in Essex under the new Education Inspection Framework.
There will be input from the EP team seconded to EWHMS to support schools, and information about local initiatives including the LINK Programme (South and Mid) and new SEMH provision in Uttlesford. In addition, Nicki Harris will give an update on current and emerging HR issues, and Mark Solomons will talk about the work his company has carried out to develop staff wellbeing.
Once you have had a chance to look at the agenda, do contact me if you have any “pre-questions” for LA officers or any of the other presenters.
The autumn term newsletter will be circulated at the meeting.
Safeguarding Forum meeting
In the afternoon Jo Barclay will run the termly safeguarding forum meeting in each area – headteachers are very welcome to stay on and attend, and other staff from schools across the area will join the meeting (from 1.30 pm – 4.30 pm).
If you plan to attend the safeguarding forum, please make sure you have booked a place via the Infolink
